 Stonecot
Studios was established in 1982 at Stonecot Hill in Sutton. The studio
is situated at Stonecot Hill on the outskirts of Sutton, between Morden
and North Cheam. The current owner and photographer, Colin Smith has
been based at the studio since 1993. Colin became interested in photography
from a young age in the mid eighties but an earlier photo of Colin
shown here would suggest it started before then! Colin was in the first year of the new GCSE in 1987 and one of the new subjects on offer was Photography which of course he took and sailed through. That was followed with an A level and then a BTEC National Certificate, all completed with top grades. During the BTEC course Colin also worked in a photographic shop gaining essential retail experience, as well as hands on familiarity with all kinds of cameras and equipment. Of course this was before digital cameras so he became an expert on removing jammed films and replacing batteries to the delight of customers who assumed the camera was broken!  From
1993 to the present day Colin has been a full time professional photographer
and became qualified as a Master Photographer in 1995. He specialises
in wedding and portrait photography and has followed the evolution
of styles in those years. From the very traditional posed shots that
were so familiar to everyone from the very beginning of photography
to the more relaxed informal styles of today. Perhaps it is a reflection of changing fashions or the flexibility of modern cameras or both, but either way, creative and inspiring photographs are far more easily attainable which makes the job of the professional photographer in some ways much harder. Colin combines his traditional skills in posing and lighting with modern digital cameras that allows a more spontaneous, reportage approach to create a well balanced and beautiful set of wedding photographs. Stonecot Studios offers a range of packages to suit different kinds of weddings, large and small. There are options for how much of the day is covered, what kind of album you get and how many photographs are in the album. There are extras such as parents albums, framed prints and CD slideshows. At certain times there are special offers available and if you require something particular that is not mentioned in a package, just ask.
